How does the Biorock work? The Biorock uses the wind and 'natural chimney' draft to pull the air through the sewage treatment plant.  Hence no electricity required.   First of all the raw sewage enters a primary settlement tank (your existing septic tank or a tank supplied separately by SEPTICTANK.co.uk).  The primary settlement tank then separates the solid waste from the liquid effluent.  Once the effluent leaves the primary settlement tank and enters the Biorock, it passes through a 2 stage filtration process via a matrix of self cleaning bacteria filter fibres which trap any suspended solid particles, and cleans and treats  the effluent organically like the soil does in nature.  The result, is purified clean water, which can legally and safely be discharged directly into watercourses.
